I have registered a forum user-account and have logged in, so why can I not post?

If you get a message similar to "You do not have permission to start a topic in this forum You are currently logged in as ******" when you try to post it means that you have you have not visited the URL in the authorisation e-mail that was sent to your e-mail address when you registered, this is required before you can post to confirm that you are a person and are not using a fake e-mail address. If you did not recieve and an authorisation e-mail then you must have entered the wrong e-mail address. If you have visited the URL but still cannot post then please send a e-mail with your forum user-account name to a forum-administrator from the e-mail address that you used when you registered, that forum-administrator will then reqister you manualy. Note! Do not directly contact any XBMC forum administrators (or any other XBMC team-member) for support/help on XBMC nor to request/suggest a feature!

What are the specific forum-rules and guidelines for the XBMC Community Forum?

Please see the Forum Usage Guidelines article for the forum rules. Failure to follow any of the these official guidelines bellow can give you one or more official warnings, and if receive three official warnings you will get permanently banned from the forums!

Please remember that Team-XBMC and the XBMC-project are not responsible for any messages or their contents posted on the forum. Team-XBMC and the XBMC-project do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, which is not necessarily the views of the bulletin-board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact Team-XBMC immediately by email. Team-XBMC have the ability to remove objectionable messages and will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if determined that removal is necessary. You agree, through your use of the bulletin-board service, that you will not use the bulletin-board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative any law. If you are asked to ask a question in a smart way then you should refer to the article on the web called How To Ask Questions The Smart Way, it contains some very wise words to follow in online community forums if you would not like to ignored or treated as a stupid person.
