XBMC4Xbox Update

July 5th, 2012 natethomas

As you should all know by now, Team XBMC does not maintain a build for the original Xbox. With that said, a few valiant souls have continued to port over some of the more beneficial lines of XBMC code and done other bug fixing the keep the aging Xbox as a valid option for many people out there. To this day, though more than 10 years old, the Xbox 1 remains one of the best boxes in the world for gaming, pictures, and SD video playback.

Unfortunately, the dev team at our sister site XBMC4Xbox is currently dealing with some hosting problems. So for now, those of you still benefitting from your old Xbox may find them at their new site xbmc4xbox.org.uk until the hosting problems have been resolved. Plus, if you are still updating your old Xbox, it may be worth noting that their donation page is only a click away.

    Thanks for the information …
    I’m a big xBox fan …
    On xBox we can read :
    - DVD and DVD HD
    - Divx in H264 vfw (Max 960 x 400) and sound in AC3 dolby digital 5.1
    - and some little 720p HD films in AVI … but not many more :p

    And for my part it is really enought !

    It might be possible to recover some content from archive.org:

    Hope this helps…

    Thanks for the update! I was trying to have a look at the status of the project but could not find it any longer :) Great little media player she is. For all the devs still around who made her great in the first place, thanks again!

    @Darknior

    Don’t forget play XBOX games! :-)

    Still my XBMC platform of choice. Got a raspberry PI but I still like the very quick boot and accessibility of the XBOX for some bizarre reason.

    BUT with XBMC coming to android then it might be curtains for both (I’ll use the PI for its intended purpose and keep the XBOX for games).
