i have converted a dvd to divx on my pc using autogk, and both movies can be viewed fine on my pc. however, i am unable to get them to load/run via xbmc. i created two, one in xvid and one in divx 5, both have ac3, and are about 2.5gig in size. i get a black screen, and all buttons are locked, include igr.

is there a codec i need to load or config? i've tried both xbmc 12/8 and 12/31.

i have'nt added this to xbmc faq yet but will do when get time as this also applies to xbmc, this is from the xbmp faq:

q: why can't xbmp read/play avi video files after 2gb or play read/play 2gb+ avi video files? a: all avi files over 2gb in size are opendml avi's and xbmp do not yet support opendml.
ps! know that xbmp has also other problems with opendml avi's that are under 2gb in size,
(couple such problems are that xbmp cannot ff/frdw in opendml, and video distortions).
note! reason for this is that mplayer which xbmp is based upon do not yet support opendml

i hope opendml will be supported very soon, but with xbmc 2003-12-03 i readed these files (opendml > 2gb), while with xbmc 2004-04-02 not. why?
