i read a website how to install xbox sdk and following is the text

installing software

special note for .net developers: visualstudio 6.0 can be installed along with visual studio .net; the best way i've seen to do this is to install vs6 after vs.net, and keep the components to a minimum.

please follow these steps:

1. installing vs6 or vc++6
2. install the service pack 4 or 5 (see the microsoft website for explanations)
3. install the appropriate processor pack (see the microsoft website for explanations)
4. install the xbox xdk.

does it mean i should use vc++6 to develop/compile xbox application/game ? in other words, does vs .net compilatable to compile xbox source ?

no, you need vs.net for the latest xdks. all they wanna say, is that you can keep your vs 6.0 even if you upgrade to .net if you need it.
