Dongle-free Xbox DVD-player?

hi,

does anyone know how to change the aspect ration when playing a dvd back with this player? it works fine, however the aspect ratio is not correct. when i put the same dvd in my set top player, the aspect ratio is correct. i have tried all the buttons on the xbox controller, but can't seem to find the one that controls aspect ratio.

when i watch movies, the image is taller than it should be, but the correct width. it it not 4/3, but it is definitely not the correct aspect ratio either. everyone looks elongated. the image leaves only a few inches of black bar on the bottom and top, whereas there is about double the black bars in my set top dvd player.

how can i change the aspect ratio using the dvd-x2 dongle-free dvd player?

you can't.

turn off widescreen in the ms dash. (ie set it to normal if you have a 4:3 tv)

thanks for the answer, but i am happy to say you are mistaken! i found the option. if you hold down the left joystick button, and then hit the back button, you come up with the config menu. it is really awkward to do, almost impossible to find. you actually have to hold in the joystick and use it as a button, then use your other hand to push the back button at the same time.

there are loads of config options. if you go into the resolution section, you can pick 16/9, 4/3, etc... you can also pick none which means it will present whatever aspect ratio the dvd was made with, which is precisely what i wanted. i picked none and now all aspect ratios on the xbox are correct.

whohoo! perfect, there are also loads of other options to browse so that you can tweak audio and video settings.
