does anyone know if a script exists to read avantgo or plucker channels? many sites are published in this format for palm/pocketpcs with small screens and it would be perfect to read on xbox like rss.

both avantgo & plucker are apps for the palm line of products, avantgo serves up pages meant for the palm screen (kind of obsolete with wap nowadays i think) plucker takes html and converts so it is viewable on a palm as well it takes out images and such. although thinking about it now, wap pages maybe a very good idea for xbmc since they have much less content then full fledged sites but have much more content then many rss feeds (well the major news ones offer a headline and maybe the intro paragraph although rss does have the capacity for much more). i know cnn, yahoo, ebay and paypal all have wap sites, on ebay u can even bid and u can send money through paypal over wap. i think wap may actually be worth looking into, of course as is the case with many feature suggestions here i am by no means a coder.

my point exactly. these sites are formatted to be shown on a small screen. they would do very well on a tv. some lists of sample channels to get an idea:

https://my.avantgo.com/browse/
http://palmclub.nl/channels/ (dutch site but also international channels)
http://www.palmtop-portal.de/index.php?lang=2

when viewing on a pc most detect you are using a pc and redirect to a normal page. some examples that open like you would see on palm:
http://www.wired.com/news_drop/palmpilot/
http://www.auto.com/avantgo/
http://icepick.com/mobile/
