Xbox-game ripping feature inside XBMC

now we have the fantastic cd rip option could a dvd/game rip option be added to the applications menu, i would put it where my xcommunity button sits.

please do a search it's been requested numerous times. the general consensus seems to be that first it doesn't belong in a media center. second, even though xbmc could already be seen as bordering on the illegal (and yes i know they only distribute source code) implementing game ripping is just too dodgy an area and they don't want to have to worry about such issues when it's not even an on topic feature.

noet: this doesn't mean it will never be implemented just that's what's been stated by some of the team. as i said do a search, there's a big thread on the issue.

obviously one is not going to advocate game copying, just backing up of a game one already owns, with out the need for yet another app. i fail to see the difference between copying/ripping a game to your hard drive and copying/ripping a album. is it because a game costs more than an album?
the double standards do my head in, i won't be requesting any features here on in.....

remember this is microsoft's console, that's where the attention would come from. they don't care about cd ripping at all, they even have the capablity in their own dash! you can rip to wma.

but i'd guess they would care about people ripping games to the hard drive, regardless of wether you own the game or not, take the time to read one of their eula's and you'll get the point. it's just not worth the risk.
