Hi Guys,
I just lost a harddisk with my mp3 collection (15000+ songs) and various TV shows. Since this is not the first time I lost a lot of data, I want to buy a NAS solution. It needs to have RAID (3/5) for redundancy purposes. Budget is not really an issue, although I do want value for money. I prefer a off-the-shelf solution instead of building a new pc. I'll most likely not use to stream more than 1 thread at a time, although that might change in the future. Does anyone have a recommendation for such a system? Did some googling already, but I thought I'd ask around here as well to get some good advice. Thanks! |

qnap 209 does raid 1 (mirroring) with 2 drives.
i have one for mirrored files, and one for raid 0 (performance). a qnap with two 1.5tb would be pretty cheap nowadays. I tried mbox. STAY AWAY FROM THESE. never buy first generation of anything. Quote:
