Hi guys,
Mine's quite simple. I've encoded a video file at different bit rates, ranging from about 4Mbps to 8Mbps to allow users with high connection speeds to be able to watch the file in its potential quality. I want to put all four files (4Mbps, 5Mbps, 6Mbps, 8Mbps) in a "folder" so that when the user clicks on the folder link on the web, depending on their connection speed, the correct one is selected for them and played/downloaded. This way, the REALLY fast speeds don't have to have a 4Mbps version when they can actually read an 8Mbps. I know that this process is possible but can't remember what it is called, I've searched all over. Could someone at the minimum tell me what it is called and for a bonus, how I can do it on Episode pro 4. Thanks! Doug |

Perhaps you should ask your question on a forum that actually addresses these types of concerns? This has nothing to do with XBMC as far as I can tell.
Cheers, Jonathan

After searching for the "Audio/Video Encoding and Transcoding discussion forum", I logged on and posted a question about audio and video encoding.
Please explain to me how these are not related.

I see. Well if an administrator sees this: it would be worth looking into how your page is found by Google. I searched for "audio video encoding forum" and this forum was the first result. After checking the home page I can see this is not one of the services xbmc offers so perhaps this should be made clearer when displaying the title of the forum which is ultimately displayed by Google as the purpose of the page?

This site is dedicated to the use of XBMC surely there are better sites dedicated to video encoding? |
