Default Are there any DJ's out there know good ways to rip LP records to MP3?

Hi all

I have a friend who does some home DJ work as a hobby, he's asked me to build him a home entertainment system based on a 'Server' to which he will back up all of his old LP's etc from twin decks. He wants to save to .mp3 then stream the results over his network to his big TV via XBMC on an Xbox.

As you will imagine im fine on the XBMC side and also the network / PC hardware.

Does anyone know a DJ that can help? I need some help with the DJ specific hardware, sound card etc......

My sketch is to have a HP Desktop PC with 2 X 500 GIG HDD's in it running Windows XP Pro or Home. This will have line in (not sure how) so he can record to the HDD's via his twin decks. The media he creates will be played via the Xbox with XBMC.

Suggestions chaps ?

Thanks

Trebz

Hey Geeb's

My pal needs his old LP's etc backing up to .mp3 so the twin decks will have to stay.

Im installing the following:

HP xw6000 Dual Xeon Dual Core.
2 X 750GIG HDD's mirrored
Some RAM etc... hehe

A Creative Soundblaster Elite Pro thing....

He'll be backing up to the XW6000 then using it to run XBMC to his big TV etc.....i was going to put him an Xbox / XBMC in but i think he'll be better off with the windows solution as he's not very IT literate.

I have the full infrastructure of his house to do as well. Cabling, wireless etc.

Nice little project to keep me going until i get another job.

I was looking forward to getting paid for the job but the guy said he'll give me his Xbox 360 and all his games instead.

Im not impressed. Xbox 360's are pants.......i'll be flogging it on Ebay ASAP :-(

:-)
