Default No video after decompressing a rar file to avi

I recently downloaded six .rar files containing a Nature program, "The Queen of Trees". I used 7-zip to decompress the file into an .avi file, but when I ask Windows Media Player to play the .avi I get only the sound. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds as though you might not have the a directshow decoder installed for the video. I would recommend ffdshow-tryouts. That should decode just about anything you should need.
