Default FanArt usage question

hello everybody

first of all i would like to thank the xbmc team... i really dont know what would be of my life without it...

i've upgraded to the new beta 1 atlantis version, and now i started to use the movie fanart function... very nice, in the new PM3.HD... but i do have a question

if i have a file like this:

300.avi

i use this pattern:

300.tbn (cover)
300-fanart.jpg (fanart)

but whats the filename to the fanart jpeg when i'd have a movie with 2 cds?

i'm using like this:

Casino Royale.cd1.avi
Casino Royale.cd1.tbn
Casino Royale.cd2.avi

i've tried this:

Casino Royale.cd1-fanart.jpg
Casino Royale-fanart.jpg

but without success... someone know whats the correct filename to the fanart image?

thank you all, i just love xbmc

*sorry for my bad english though*

"Casino Royale-fanart.jpg" will work here as it`s handled in the same manner as normal thumbnails.
Any manual added thumbnail or fanart will have to be named like the stacked filename. Please make sure to use the library mode for testing and report back.

I'm usually dead wrong when ever submit a post, but:

I'm using Media Companion.
Say I have 2 stacked AVIs in a "Movie" folder that are named

movie.cd1.avi
movie.cd2.avi

The resulting nfo and tbn files from Media Companion are

movie.cd1.nfo
movie.cd1.tbn

XBMC has no issues finding these files and using the info therein.

The fanart file MC creates is called movie.cd1-fanart.jpg
This is in keeping with the above mentioned naming conventions yet XBMC doesn't see it until I name it to what you are stating here, namely

movie-fanart.jpg

I guess my question is why the change in naming conventions?
It seems this would make it more difficult for apps like Media Companion since it has to strip out part of the filename.

Again, I apologize if I'm confused or missing something.
Any help would be appreciated.

You nfo and tbn should be using the stackname as well. You probably scanned with "Use Folder Names for Lookup" which will just grab the first nfo and tbn it finds.

It would be great if it grabbed the first image file with "fanart" in the file name as well when this option is checked.
It would simplify fanart naming issues greatly.

the intention is that fanart.jpg should work in these cases.

however by looking at the code seems i forgot about it

Thanks for the info.

So will the addition of this capability be blocked because of the feature freeze?

Or am I wrong in assuming you are still planning on adding it?

"Alexander CD1.avi" + "Alexander CD2.avi" will get stacked to "Alexander.avi". Fanart has to be named: "Alexander-fanart.jpg".
