Ads on xbmc.org
I'm sure there's a good reason for it, so I'm just curious to why the xbmc website doesn't have any ads on it to help with paying hosting bills and other such things?

It is hoped that donations will eventually cover the hosting bill. Whether they will or not we shall have to see. If we can avoid having to put ads up we will.
