I have 3 HP media vaults that haven't given me any problems at all. they have 2 bays and support 1TB drives and the OS can be hacked for added fun.
if you get the NAS bar they are like 170 bucks try www.ecost.com |

Got an old pc sitting around gathering dust? Try using NASLite. I run an old box with an 800Mhz PIII processor, 512Mb ram and this software works great. Have it hooked into my wireless router and can transfer files back and forth to it with no problems.

Pros: More expandable & flexible than a dedicated NAS Cheaper (if you don't have a computer lying around, check craigslist or your local paper for one. I got mine for $25) Can use a PCI wireless card instead of tying up a router Cons: Bigger Louder (probably) Uses More Power |

Just my 2c but I would take an old machine install your drives, and install Ubuntu Server on it. You can build yourself a decent Media Server/NAS in < 2 hours. And you have full control over it.
If you are interested, I can help. Bone |
