i love that xbmc plays the straight cue/bin file. it saves me the time and disk space of having to use vcdgear to convert the files to mpg. are there are windows based video player apps that will do the same thing as xbmc and play a cue/bin file?

not sure, but you can always use daemon tools (search google) to mount the .bin as a cd drive (and then you'll see the files that you can play.

for anything windows use vlc media player, its the best player ever, doesnt need codecs, will play multi-region dvd without any firmware mods, will play bin files, just about anything and everything actually.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ oh, and its completely free and open source, and the streaming stuff they do is awesome. |

and if you're still wanting to rip those mpgs then i'd suggest using isobuster, you dont need to mount anything, you can rip right from the bin file, or alternatively look into alcohol 120%, which is a nice set of tools too (virtual dvd-rom)

or just use the win32 compile of mplayer, which is what xbmc is based on.
it plays vcd/svcd .bin files as well as dvd .img or .iso files just fine. latest version: http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer....re4.zip winmplayer with gui: http://www.christianroessler.net/mplayer/index.php
