because i got a 3d party av pack (not microsoft) with optical conection, ms dash does not regonise my pack and there is no option to enable dd5.1 in ms dash.

is there any way to enable the dd5.1 without the ms dash?

the sterio audio is working with the av pack trugh the optical connection

no, it's not possible to enable it if it's disabled in the dash. we can only disable features switched on in the dash, not enable them.

you may find that some of the dashboards out there allow you to enable/disable the settings in the eeprom.

you may also be able to modify your a/v adapter so that it works with the ms dash. (digital output is specified by simply grounding one of the pins on the a/v connector. it happens when you insert the advanced a/v connector pack for instance.)
