Xbox Remote with PCTV receiver?

I was wondering if it were possible to use the Original Xbox Remote with the PCTV (pinnacle) Receiver?

When using it with irw I get a different code when pressing the same button, each time...
I aint no expert on this subject, maybe one of you all is?

Would be neat to be able to use my old familiar remote, which I've been using for 4 years now (thanks to XBMC).

I'm guessing that Skindred is using XBMC Linux port on a computer and want to control it using Microsoft Xbox DVD Kit (Xbox IR remote), and he is wondering if he can use that with the dongle (IR reciever) that comes with the Pinnacle PCTV. Am I right Skindred?

If that is the case I do not know the answer, but I believe you can instead use the actual dongle (IR reciever) that comes with the Microsoft Xbox DVD Kit if you just get a USB converter for it, so why don't you do that?
