Hi,

I have successfuly compiled XBMC on Ubuntu 7.04 (following the readme.linux).

Video and audio are working nicely.

But I can't figure out how to play a DVD.

If I add a source for the DVD I can only browse the DVD as a directory (AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS) but can't play it.

Any idea? even if there is no support

Thanks

On the Xbox version there is an autorun option:

Not sure it applies to the Linux port though.

Shouldn't it then be default on?

Default DVD playback

Thanks for the reply

hmm, I've check that already but no luck with xbmc. I can play a DVD with mplayer.

Do I need to add a specific entry in sources.xml for my dvd or is it "autodetected" by xbmc ?

I'll run in debug and let you know.

Thanks .

Default DVD autorun log

Here a part of the log :

Detecting DVD-ROM media filesystem...
CD Analysis Report

CD-ROM with both UDF and ISO 9660 filesystem
ISO 9660: 2285856 blocks, label `'
UDF: version 1.02
---cut---
Loading: /home/nico/XBMC/BUILD/system/players/dvdplayer/libdvdnav-i486-linux.so
msg: libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 0.2.0cvs from http://dvd.sf.net
msg: libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access

Error on dvdnav_open

DVDPlayer: eof, waiting for queues to empty
CDVDPlayer::OnExit() deleting input stream

So for some reason it can't find \Device\Cdrom0

/dev/cdrom does exists ...

Any idea ?

Thanks .

it looks like you burned your DVD-Video wrong, it can not be ISO9660 nor a ISO9660/UDF hybrid, it has to be burnt as a DVD-Video (which is pure UDF 1.02). Can you try a couple of original bought/retail DVD-Video discs instead of copies/backups?

PS! Also upload a full log onto pastebin.com and post the link here.

Default fixed (hopefully)

I posted a fix for this yesterday. Can you please check with latest SVN and report back?

Thx.
