the svn went fine. didn't realize to not install xbmc as root
then run it as non-root.after redoing everything it couldn't find UserData there was userdata so i did ln -s userdata UserData then cp the font (only font starts with an F) out of project mayhem to the right place to get the fonts displaying. Otherwise looks good. Ubuntu 7.04 Vmware 6 running xp pro Beryl 8600 GT OC with newest nvidia compiled kernel now to the sound card!

or you can just run build.sh which takes care of it for you

You should NOT run the binary in your source tree.
