Default Does a NAS connect directly to the Xbox?

I am sorry if this has been asked but i was unable to find it via several searches.

Do they hook directly to the xbox or do they need a network via a pc to connect?

Thanks,
Dave

crossover-cable for direct-connection, or switch for shared connection, see http://xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/inde...hed_Storage%29

only to save you carrying a hdd and power pack for it, but like myself i have upgraded internal hdd i keep certain things on, and have the NAS for most others, specially where filename lenght is an issue

Also - you can only put Media files on a NAS. for other content (programs, games, etc.) you need to store it localy for it to execute.
