Grab a Stream from the DBox2

hi,

is somebody working that the xbmc grabs a stream from the dbox2 (german settopbox)?

i have programmed a pc-client "ngrab".
is it possible to realize this on the xbox in xbmc?

the xbmc must listen to a port and write the stream on the xbox-hdd.

with ngrab i use a windows-dll "wingrabengine.dll". this dll is programmed in delphi. can i use the dll on the xbox?

i am not very skilled in programming the xbox. just managed to compile and modify xbmp/xbmc for my own purpose.. so proberbly not the best person to answer you.

but i definetly would like to see this feature. hope somebody will achieve this..

did you already setup visual studio, xbox in debug mode and installed the xdk?

think the wingrabengine has to be ported in first. do you have its source code?

the grab from a settopbox to the xbox is a cool feature.
i have setup vs, have installed the xdk.
i must only configure the xbox to boot the debug bios etc.

with the wingrabengine, i have a little problem.
wingrabengine.dll is programmed in delphi.
i don't have a notion in programming delphi. i have the sourcecode von wingrabengine.dll.
possible it is better to create a new grabengine.

yeah, it works with the dreambox and enigma.

easiest way to setup debug:

download a bfm (=boorfrommedia) bios from #***** and use the phoenix bios loader. i did it this way and it works perfect.
just have to select "debug bios" from my evo-x menu and there it goes...

some years ago i did lots of stuff in delphi... but it is ages ago and i am newbee to c so don#t expect anything from my side.. but, could you send me the wingrabengine source?!
(or tell me where to download)

no i can debug the xbmc.
the xbmc crashes on my xbox in debug und release.
i don't finde the problem yet.

run samba in dreambox (ip = 192.168.0.3 for example) and use this in xboxmediacenter.xml :

<bookmark>
<name>smb</name>
<path>smb://dreambox;root:dreambox*192.168.0.3/harddisk</path>
</bookmark>

i found the above in satellite forum a few minutes ago, havent tried it yet

sure this works, but you can only watched recorded streams and not the currently running show.

tx 4 replying, any hope of being able to watch it live on the xbox and be able to record? i dont have a harddrive on my dreambox, but im gonna buy one for the xbox, so i was hoping that there was way to record onto the xbox instead.
