i would like to suggest that xbmc starts to cache the next file in the playlist as soon as the cache on the currently playing file has reached the eof ... that way there won't be a 5-10 second pause between songs when playing them over smb.
it would also be cool if you could specify the delay between songs. that way if you are playing an album like pink floyd or the who where the songs blend together, there won't be a gap from one song to the next. -a |

yeap, this is a strong point for me as well, also the delay when playing from a dvd burnt full of mp3's means that i end up copying them to the hdd.
