okay, i agree that the title is a tad polemical
that's just to try to get you interested i'd be interested to know what you guys think of that thing : http://www2.actiontec.com/products/b..._features.html i'm not too sure about the technical specs, especially the fact it's only ieee 802.11b and not g, but overall, i have the idea an item like this should become a killer thing in the near future. in fact i'd be interested in a simple audio and video wireless transmitter pc to tv. after all, as much as i love xbmc and all the services it offers to me, if i could just stream my content from my pc, and use my pc (much larger) power and comprehensive codec library to decode my divx instead of my xbox, i'd be all the more happy for it. do you guys have knowledge of products that could be better/more suitable for that ? i have many non tech savvy friends who wouldn't know how to use (or update) xbmc that could be interested by such a thing. cheers, fab ps : there is also this, seems good but no optical out : http://www.sesamtv.com/wirelesspack.htm |

you will have to use these products you suggest and xbmc more to know which is better, to compare and to make such a decision.
personally i'd say you get functionality with xbmc you will never get in a non-homegrown player, ie. a kiss player divx player example. so, you might want to consider mini-itx with linux+freevo. but if you have an xbox. if you just want basic streaming, i don't know. |
