Convert XviD (HRHD) to MPEG-2 (DVD/VOB) on PC?

i was hoping someone could give us a hint to a software that manages to convert "hrhd"'s or 720p (with 5.1 ac3) xvids to dvd compatible (vob's even?) format?

would be nice to see if someone has a nice tip for me (for a change, hehe)!

i'm not familiar with converting in that direction.

can't go into much detail atm since i'm at work plus it's been a long time since i've tried anything like this.

but ideally what you want to do is frameserver via avisynth to cce (cinemacraftencode). using cce you will get the best quality and can set the exact output size needed. around 4gig if you want to end up with a dvd. of course you'd then need to author with a dvd package to get the ifo/vob set. again for much of the details you'd need to check out doom9.

if you want a easier solution from what i hear tmpgenc or one of it's newer incarnations should be able to handle it if you want an all in one solution.
