[XBMX LIVE] - LIRC support

I'd like to see support for IR Remotes out of the box on the Live builds. I've got 9.04 running and am having a hell of a time getting it to recognize my IR Remote (iMon). If there was support out of the box, it would be really nice.

I have seen dozens of people in the forum with the same request to get their IR Remote working, and there is no definitive tutorial. This support built in would be fantastic.

Lirc is included in XBMC Live, it's pre-configured to mce remote.

We can't include any other remotes as we don't have any other remotes, the mce remote is the one most devs use.

Would you happen to know where I can go to find how to change the configured remote?

try sudo dpkg-reconfigure lirc - that should give you the interactive config menu

I tried that and got the same behavior as described in this thread.
