View Full Version : Burn dvd with dvd2xbox then open with xbmc?

when i burn a movie strait to the xbox with dvd2xbox all i get is the folder name of the movie and in it.
it gives me all of the .vob files yes i can click the main .vob file and watch the movie but this stinks i thought you can burn a movie then have thumb nails with a picture of the movies and description of the movie i have tried everything and i dont get this info.
i have a crap load of movies on dvd and a huge xbox hard drive it would be awsome to just burn them directly to the xbox and scroll through the different movies by picture and description. can anyone tell me is this even possible? and what i am doing wrong?

if space isn't an issue then use dvdshrink on pc to rip your dvds to .iso - then transfer to xbox via ftp.
or if you want smaller files convert them to xvid (again on pc) and transfer them.

thats a lot of work and time i have done that it would have been great to just burn directly to xbox once and thats it.

xbmc doesn't support full dvd playback just yet
but, if you look around and try to play one of the files, you will get the movie playing. i am not sure what file you are looking for, but screw around with it. you will figure it out faster then waiting for an answer here.

what filee types can xbmc read? looking for the most effecient way to have a dvd on my box. 200g hdd so space not that important.

webmaster_p if you read my post i can watch the movie by just clicking on the main .vob file in the folder for the paticular movie i want to watch. but what i want to do is have a visual picture and description of the movies i burn to the xbox. i thought this was possible without burning it to a pc first then converting it on the pc and then uploading to the xbox that is a chit load of time wasted expesially when you have a hundred movies or so ect. it would be great to just pop my movie into the xbox select dvdtoxbox burn it to my selected location and then run xbmc and see visuall thumb nail pic of the movie with a description. even by doing it this way takes a while for it to burn but not nearly as long as go through a pc first. apperantly from what i have read here this is not possible yet. hopefully sometime in the near future it will be possible. thankz for the replies.
