was wondering if this was a bug in xbmc ... whenever i play a video that has sound immediately right at the beginning, there's a sound hiccup (only way i can think of describing it), right before the video properly plays.

is this a known bug in xbmc or mplayer? or is there something i can do about it? it's been around quite awhile i believe, at least in the cvs in the last couple of months and still present in the 2-1-05 cvs i'm currently using. i haven't been able find info in any of the searches i've done.

believe it is because mplayer needs to be restarted with correct settings.

it starts a first time to gether information about the video (and in doing this starts the video/audio), and then after it gets the necessary information, it restarts again with the correct settings.

would it be possible the first time it runs for it to be muted, so we hear nothing? then obviously when it plays for us to watch it goes back to normal volume.

nope, it's because mplayer sends out audio before initing the display, and we take some time to go to fullscreen.. doesn't happen on digital out, will add same workaround to analog

i concur with striker ... thanx for the attention in the matter

since a workaround is already in use for digital output, it wouldn't be too much time to implement for analog? when can we expect the fix to be in place?
