with the great system that is already in place i would think that a nice feature to add would be a way to show the location of a dvd that is not in the drive. this way you could easily display all the imdb information and take advantage of the great searching and sorting features that are already in place for your entire dvd collection.
i am currently doing this already, but in a way that takes to much time and is just plain sloppy. all of my dvd's are stored in folders and numbered. trying to physically organize them is a pain due to the fact that a movie fits into several different genres. for now though i make small avi files and place them all in one folder then scan them. i would have a file called "fight club.avi" and all it would be is a black screen with the words "insert disc #837". this way i can still use all the great xbmc searching, sorting and looking up features without needing tons of hard drives to store all of my movies on.
i know this could probably be done in a python script, but i think it would work much better if it was built in sence all the db features are already in place.
just a idea. once again thanks for a great product. more of my friends have bought x-boxes just for xbmc then for anything else.
