hi. i was reading forum all night and i didn't find the answer for my question: is it possible to connect pal xbox to hdtv tv?

if no - why? can someone explain me differences between pal and ntsc xbox?

i've got pal xbox and i'd like to buy such tv to play divx movies in high resolution. (what max bitrate can xbox play? - 1280x720 bitrate 3000 done from hdtv.wmv to divx using dr.divx - xbox drops frames.)

is it possible to connect pal xbox to hdtv tv?no, but yes. what you need to do is first use a third-party application (like enigmah video mode switch, don't ask where to get that!) to switch your pal xbox to ntsc mode (it's the same hardware, just a setting in the eeprom that differ), then you must go into the settings of microsoft original xbox dashboard and switch the mode again, this time to the hdtv resolution you like (480p, 720p or 1080i) as that settings option is only available on ntsc xboxes, when that is done you will get the option under xbmc setting to set/see that hdtv resolution and also the option to enable or disable video upscaling.
