hey,
anyone played beyond good and evil?
this game has the best and fastest menu interface i've ever seen for a console. it uses the left analog stick to access menu items.
lets say you have 4 menu items.
these are divided over a circle. menu1 is top-left, menu2 is top-right, etc. moving the left analog stick towards a place in this circle allows you to select this item, and fast! with a little practice you'll flow through menus in no time.
for menus where larger collections of options are available (for instance, the alphabet) beyondge uses some sort of zoom interface, also based on a circle.
for keyboard input i also like the way they've implemented use of the sticks in an ftp prog (forgot the name alas..) by ken perlin.

an interface like this would imo really add to the value of xbmc (already priceless ofcourse :))
i understand this is a totally different interface from the current one, but it's merely a suggestion!
