ok first i will say that i am a newbie at this... here is what i want to accomplish and what i have...

i just want to play movies from another computer on my xbox. my wife doesnt want a pc in our entertainment center but the xbox is in there....
a guy i work with has the mech assault exploit and runs xbmc on his and loves it. we work together but work so much there isnt any real time for me to learn...well i can learn some :joker:

anyhow.. is there a tutorial explaining how to do all of this?

i right now have the mech assault game save and can boot linux. with this i have setup a ftp server and copied over xbmc but seems that i didn't "build it" with build.bat.

so i have i guess evox (blue dash????) running... from in here how do i get xbmc to launch? i dont see any menus or anything...

any help is greatly appreciated. i have started converting family movies to avi as i am going to do custom dvd's.. i have 14-1hr mini dv tapes to do and would like to feed them to my xbox for my wife and i to view.....
i was lookin for the media center extender for xbox but dont think it is out yet.....

so all that in a nutshell.. anyone have an idiots guide???? i keep on getting the id10-t error... http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de/forums/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif

you are not getting replys cause you are in the wrong forum
you would be better of posting on the xbox-scene forums, but i'l; try to help you out anyway

is your xbox booting into evox already? or do you use mechassault to boot evox everytime? if it's the later, you need to look into applying a dashboard exploit, go and read the ultimate dashboard exploint stuff over at x-scene, i think they are pretty easy to set up. then i would suggest installing phoenix bios loader, and get it to load a good bfm bios. after all that's done, you are ready to install xbmc
from what it sound like you are just dumping the source code onto the hd of your xbox, and you need the binanries. can't tell you where they are, but check the usual places. once you have those, read the evox tuts on how to add a shortcut to xmbc and you are set.
