Is 320x288 a decent resolution?

thinking of buying a capture device...

im looking at two different devices. one that have a max sizes of 320x288 but is like $200 less then the other...
is 320x288 enough for tv capturing?

that's about vhs quality, it's watchable but nowhere near dvd resolution

i think the quality of any capture device that has a max 320x288 will be quite poor, especialy if record from analog source
