MiniMeedia is close to perfect :grin:, but everybody got some personal preferences.
Here are mine.

Added:
* Rating to Music now playing display. Was only in Visualisation.
* Home: Music Visualisation on home screen. Has skin setting to hide.
* Home: Feels like temp. see skin settings. (Thanks to Vajonam !)
* Latest script: If a Movie or Episode doesn't have fanart the thumb will be used. (Thanks to Vajonam!)
* Weather: TWC weather script Button. Visible when set path in skinsettings/weather !
* Video OSD: OpenSubtiles-OSD Script Button. Visible when set path in skinsettings/Videos !
* Open/exit sound to favourites dialog.

* Dialog video info - scrolling cast.

I really like the 3D cover view and hope you will like 2 :grin:

The code for this view is almost the size of all views together :rofl:
And is usable for all thumb aspect ratios.

Wide TV thumbs support was a hell to create !!!!

do you know much about background loading and how that is done? MediaStream_Redux seems to kick MiniMeedia's pants when it comes to FPS while srolling.. i would like to get MiniMeedia upto that level as well.. any ideas?

MiniMeedia is imo as fast as Mediastream redux.

Try fanart view in redux and see the FPS while srolling...
This view you can compare with the MiniMeedia views.
All views shows fanart.

In Mediastream Redux the cover become even blanc while fast scrolling.
That won't happen in MiniMeedia.

Did a view, with Fanart, Media Flags and Coverflow. Does minimedia use background loading?

Do you use xbt or xpr's ? for the textures? also the test i did, was to hold the right button pressed down. to scroll thru the movies. when I do it a one at a time minimeedia does stay around 60, but after a few movies it drops way down

I was thinking, maybe its the background loading of the actual poster thumnails, because in MSR, when you scroll real fast most of the thumbs aren't loaded and only show up when your stop scrolling. i will poke around too..

This all is in includes.

Do you think this is hard to implement? this stuff is bit beyond me at the moment.

Looks like the FPS drop back isn't caused by the backgrounds.
Disabled the compleet backgounds include and FPS would still drop.

MediaStream_Redux uses background loading for thumbs while MiniMedia does not,
that's the only difference as far as i can tell.

the benefit of background loading is, it allows you to scroll through lists very fast (i.e. it doesn't have to wait for the thumb to load before scrolling to the next item).
the downside is, the thumbs will be empty (blank) during fast scrolling.

It doesn't causes the fall back in FPS.

Im playing around with CdArt.
Will probably only use blank disc, I included it to Music now playing display.
So it not that big but it will show in every view.
Did also include pause/FF/RW indicators.

I may be missing something, but I can't seem to be able to change the view in either movies or tv shows.

In movies, I am using the slide view, and in tv shows I am using one of the list views. No matter which way I press on the remote (multiple times) the menu doesn't pop up to change the views.

waffa, i am not able to sort by name on the poster info view. if click on any of the other sorts I cannot return to sort by name. I thinks its broken on base MiniMeedia as well.

first have it sorted by name. then sort by rating. then switch back sort by name. it doesn't sort by name. is this what you tried?

Yes most of my media is video (tv and movies) not much audio. So yes tested in videos.

Looks like Container.SortMethod(1) is gone and it needs to be done ala PM3.HD with a button maybe?

well ..mimimeedia was skin with mostly skunks personal preferences.. so its all good :;):

dont mind either way.. just want to make sure i dont loose my mods.


Also i found out how to background load the thumb in the PosterInfo views that increase FPS upto 60..

basically add <texture background="true" ... /> to all the wraplists in PosterInfo. I have to do more testing.. will post the diffs. I am thinking we if we background load at least the last 2 thumbs -2 and +2 it will help

next is how to fix the sort by name stuff.. will get to the bottom of it..

when display any title with underscores "_" the font is garbled.

for example in the OSD Info (about the decoding FPS etc on the top)

ffmepeg-h264_vdpau appears like ffmpeg-h264vdpau , it looks like a underline but its all messed up. This is also apparent in the thumb browser when file names have underscores in them

My Rev is 24368 (latest) Nightly build. Info works.

This Info problem will be solved. :;):

Every build got some bugs, for example rev 24368 closes while music playing :eek:. This will be solved to, always has.:grin:

I solved the info problem using the following.

The info problem is introduced r24576

I fixed it by in SettingsSystemInfo.xml

<onclick>SetFocus(95)</onclick>

and then in the include for the button

<onfocus>SetFocus(9000)</onfocus>

works fine.

Hi Waffa

I just wanted to report what I think might be a problem.

Some of the studio icons in the skin don't seem to look right, nor do the dolby 5.1 symbols, here is a screenshot:

Also, I am still having a problem with whatever font I use where it won't show any symbols, either in a file path (like during the library update) or in my rss feed. Here is a screenshot of that:

I know I have a previous thread about this, but I wasn't able to get it resolve by switching fonts, even to Arial, so I was wondering if you had any suggestions. Thanks!!

I had this problem to and it happend when I did Rescrape a movie,
Looks like XBMC doesn't delete the old Icon.

Hmm those problems with fonts are caused by xbmc I think.
So wait for a new build or try an older build.
