hi,

im using xbox media center, the latest version (not cvs), and am having a problem in movie playing navigation. the fast-forward control works fine, with progressing speed in 2x, 4x, 8x, 32x, so on. but the rewind/reverse control (back) works, but is very fast... the 2x rewind is about as fast as a 32x forward.

im having this problem using the controller and the remote control. the rewind/reverse is so fast that its practically useless, since you always end up backing up more than you want, and have to fast-forward again.

anyone else have this problem?

ok, here's the facts then..

xbmc uses mplayer (www.mplayerhq.hu) for playback
mplayer is rather bad at ff/rew and there's not much we can do about it. it can be solved, but it's not an easy task, attempts have been made several times.

let's leave it at that.

i have this problem too. i'm using the sept 9th cvs, but its been this way for me with the last few releases. i have to admit it that it is extremely annoying. touch reverse and you skip back like 30 seconds before you can press play, and then you have to fast forward to get where you wanted. i dont understand how something as advanced as the xbmc could have such a tough time with just slowing down the reverse.. that just has to seem comical.

anyway, no one else really seemed to say they had this problem so here's my post.

why don't you read the reply i gave before your post?

i read your post before i replied. you prompted me to post because your reply was pretty blunt and closed with a vague statement as if this problem should just be ignored.
