is there any way to hide the following options in the main menu?

my programs
my files
tv guide

i have tried removing the options from xboxmediacenter.xml, but they still appear.

i know xbmp used the <visible>false</visible> tag, can this be used for xmc?

these things are part of the skin,
so you should remove them from the skin, not from the xboxmediacenter.xml

just open up skin/mediacenter/home.xml
have a good look @ it and you'll figure out how to remove them;-)
