I've been using XBMC on Xbox for years and it is like second nature to me. I think it would be wonderful if Xbox 1/Xbox 360 controller support is built in to XBMC Live.

I plan to upgrade to XBMC Live system using an Atom+Ion HTPC without a harddrive. I don't want to install Windows because it does not make use of the ION graphics hardware in XBMC.

I really like the Logitech Cordless Xbox controller. It is so easy to use and so convenient. I hope to be able to retain the Xbox feel in this new setup. Thanks!

Ditto the previous post. I currently have (3) modded Xbox systems running XBMC. I plan on purchasing a ASRock ION 330 system to be able to play HD. I plan on using XBMC Live and my same wireless Xbox controller. I have the USB->Xbox adapter.

Does anyone know if the Xbox controllers will work in XBMC Live? If not, is there a process to get them working?

Thanks!

While i'm not sure if they will work with the new live version out of the box (so to speak) you can configure linux and winders to use the 360 wireless controller with usb adapter, so you can make it work for sure.

here's the guide that i use

for winders i use xpadder

Hopefully xbox controller support will or is already available in the "Live" version. If not, I could always take a stab at running loading Ubuntu and configuring it.

Xbox controller support is not incorporated in any of the XBMC versions besides the XBMC for Xbox. It really should be built in since most people using XBMC started using it on the Xbox and are familiar with the control mechanics. I find it so much better than using a Windows Media Center Remote.

I hope this gets incorporated into the next XBMC release.

Is that support built into the Linux version of XBMC? So if I buy an adapter for the xbox 1 controller, it will work out of the box? Also is there support for the xbox 360 controller?

yes, the keymap sits in svn. afaik no 360 keymap though, although building it shouldn't be hard
