Thumbnails / Thumbs for shares and drives

hi all,

is there a way to have xbmc display a thumb for directory shares? for example, i'm using smb to access my pictures on my laptop. i want there to be a thumb for each of these picture directories. i've tried placing a "folder.jpg" inside the directories as well as "foldername.tbn" in the same path as the picture directories, but no luck.

is there a way to do this?

i dont belive they work for the top most directory of your share (the one you specify in the xml file)but they do work for sub directorys.

can someone confirm that thumbs don't work for the top-most directory of shares? if that's true, i'd like to add it as a feature suggestion.

sorry, the topmost directory listing (ie your bookmarks) can only use the default icons for harddrive, network, cdda, or dvd which are part of the skin.
