Problem 1:

While XBMC's scrapper system is nice and works fairly well. Like any system it makes mistake in the scrapping process. The mistakes can be corrected by use of tools in XBMC, but the overall navigation is slow and cumbersome and depending on how many movies you have to correct it can get quite aggravating after a while.

Problem 2:

There are many media managers out there like Media Companion, Ember, and Media Info Plus just to name a few. No mater how these applications work, the end result is the same. You get your thumb, fanart, movie.nfo, and so, but none of these will directly input the data into your media library in XBMC.

Suggested Solution

Add an update from NFO file option. Basically add a button in the tools section of a movie that will pull information for the movie out of the nfo file and input it into the Library. This should speed up the process that it takes to correct or alter a movie in the XBMC library. With one click it will use the thumb(poster), fanart, and all other movie details specified from the nfo file.

So when you run into movies like say Robin Hood. Where there are like 10 different Robin Hood movies out there. With one click of a button it will pull all the information from the nfo file for the correct Robin Hood movie.

By having this option, it will also further close the gap between XBMC and the media managers that are out there. This could also help eliminate some work for the developers of XBMC to focus on other items and let the makers of the media managers worry about scrapper developments.

XBMC already does what you are suggesting... if there is art or an NFO file present it uses that rather than scraping from the 'net.
