yea ok, i know i am a pervert but i believe there should be "internet adult film database"(iafd) support in xbmc because i know there are other perverts out there that download porn movies and watch them on xbmc.
www.iafd.com
as we can again see, most technological advances are always firstly and foremostly used for porn  , internet being the best example...
anyway, me also thinks blueskull isn't the only perv around here so this might be a fun idea. definately not very high in the priority list though, in my opinion... :hmm:
...what, me, porn? never...

i went over to that site and did a quick search, but images were few to say the least, so what point would it be?

Bumping this thread now as Spiff has just committed a new lookup mechanism which enables anyone (without any prior programming experience) to relatively easily create RegExp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression)-based XML scrapers (see the new "\system\scrapers\video\" and the imdb.xml example). The database is only able to handle movies so far, so you can not create scrapers for anything else right now, but Spiff is planning on extending the video-database to also handle TV-series so stay tuned. FYI; these XML scrapers are text-based so will be able to create and/or edit them yourself in a text-editor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Text_editor) or a xml-editior (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xml_editor). RegExp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression) is kind of a simple scripting language made up of syntax rules that will allow you to simply scrape/collect information from a web-site and sort it into the database.
This lookup mechanism mean that you can create a Internet Adult Film Database (IAFD) scraper for yourself and then submit it to Team-XBMC (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=87054&atid=581840) so others also can enjoy it. (Note that if you can not compile XBMC yourself then you need to wait for the next T3CH build before you access this new feature).
Any volenteers? Happy scraping!
just fyi, i have now commited part two of my world domination plans.
- new video db scheme
- revamped lookup mechanisms to handle different content types (still only movies)
next on list is tv shows.
Please also see:
- dvdloc8.com (dvdlocate) lookup/scraper (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14931)
- Anime lookup on anidb.net or animenfo.com (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2978)

I noticed the adult scraper and visited the site... while IAFD does have very few thumbs use of customs would work well here. Also, IAFD does seem to have a much larger.... search dbase.
nothing like adding something and the only response you get is 'more more more!!!!!'
HarshReality I don't agree, I think their db is much smaller. I have written a second porn scraper for http://www.adultcdmovies.net/ which doesn't work yet since they have a direct link protection to their thumbnails.
I just tested IAFD again, out of 10 porns I only found 1 on their site.

The only thing with Jaded i didnt really care for is its a store... its descriptions are store oriented... no synopsis at all (no porn cracks regarding what the plot is please). Adult cd movies appearsto be the same way where as IAFD (in some cases) and adultfilmdatabase.com seem to display the information more like IMDB would with a synopsis. My clencher (again no adult cracks) was Pandora's Mirror when I got it for my wife. adultfilmdatabase.com has it where nobody else seemed to... I'm also wondering if nfo files will be worked in for other scrapers or if its just for IMDB or if its going away completely since the scrapers are being revamped.
The problem with porn is as I see it, is that there is no one complete database (as imdb). Imo it would be ideal if one could decide via the nfo which porn scraper to use.

Will no doubt be a possibility when more become available.
http://www.adultfilmdatabase.com seems to be good as well. However, the search uses POST variables which the scraper engine doesn't support.

How about... http://www.cduniverse.com/warning.asp?cart=478219632&destination=%2Fproductinfo%2Easp%3Fpid%3D6810090%2 6style%3Dice for a scraper... as soon as I figure out how to make one....

did you do it?
seems like this is a really good database for adult movies.
I've been playing with XBMC a bit lately, so when I saw this thread pop up in a Google alert, I thought I'd stop by.
We're usually willing to talk when someone contacts us about looking at our data from another site or program.
I'm surprised you couldn't find "Pandora's Mirror" since it's been in our database damned near since its inception. If you're looking for comps, you can go elsewhere because we don't actively list comps. There's just too many of them, and no good solid info on them.
I will say our search engine borders on lame in comparison with today's smarter search engines. Substrings only. If you don't spell it they way we spell it, you're going to be out of luck.
We don't show boxcovers because doing so is a GIGANTIC administrative hassle here in the USA, and we're not a big staffed company, so we made the painful decision to drop boxcovers when the 2257 regs went into effect.
Feel free to drop us a note at iafd@iafd.com and we can discuss ways to better implement IAFD with the XBMC.

Dude, adult films database? C'mon
Why don't you concentrate efforts on more useful suggestions like TV support?

You realize this thread is from early 2007 and some idiot just resurrected it thinking that any of the original posters still care?
