I have been having problem changing the brightness and contrast in xbmc lately, I think it started a week or two back when I wanted to change my brightness and contrast, there's no effect no matter what kind of video I am playing.

My xbmc is updated to SVN 21146
Windows XP SP3
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia GTX260, driver version 182.06
Sound Blaster Audigy 4, driver version 6.0.1.1361

Debug log is here (http://pastebin.com/m1f9d725)

I'm not sure it works on all graphics cards.

I'm not sure it works on all graphics cards.

the weird thing is, it was working previously and all of a sudden it stop working. I am not really sure when it stop working since I seldom change my brightness and contrast.

Having the same problem since at least SVN21333 in Linux (Ubuntu Intrepid 64 bit). Currently on SVN21650 with the same issue. Worked previously. This is with a GeForce 8200 (onboard) HDMI out with proprietary X driver (version 180.51).

Same issue here, started around the same time as the first poster.

Windows XP
Nvidia 9500GT (seeing a Nvidia trend here...) out via DVI
forceware 186.18 (although issue presented while I still was using 185.85)
latest tested on svn 21647 (use updater, so that changes regularly)

Yeah same problem here, it worked when i tried xbmc after driver installation (on a fresh xp install)

Then later when all the updates and shit were in nothing happend when i changed the sliders :/

C2D e6750
nVidia 9400GT
2GB Memory
XP Pro

yeah seems lika a nVidia problem, but i wonder why it worked earlier! If someone finds a fix to this i will be happy!! (Post here or pm me :D)

Thanks, WiSo. I forgot to check trac. So, what I gather from the ticket is that we'll have to wait for GPU support of some flavor within Windows to regain this functionality?

I do not work.

I have nvidia 9800Gt Nvidia 7600GT 256Mb and 1GB. Does not work with either of these, nor does the option to remove black borders.

If it works with earlier versions.

Pd. Does anyone know how to do to save the setting in each film?, Which are deleted after every reboot ....

Okay! Thanks for that message! So that means we have to wait for GPU support for windows before it will work again? :)

Hope it will come soon! Because i just got XBMC the way i wanted, just need to change brightness a bit, so i hope i will get a perfect movie experience soon ;)

Thanks for this amazing app you guys who work on it!

No, it means it needs to be fixed for shaders.

Try switching to software as the renderer and see if that allows you to change brightness.

shader brightness/contrast control would be appreciated.

I posted report here: http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55134 , only way to get B/C working is to set renderer to Software, but after that CPU is maxed with some frame drops, that's xbmc live + nvidia, B/C thorugh gpu shaders would fix it.

Update : I have reinstalled XBMC and when i run it with the default skin i can change brightness and contrast. So maybe it has something to do with the aeon skin.

Will continue the test!

I run it on Win XP
