I've been using xbmc since xbmp and now I built an awesome Windows7 HTPC to run XBMC. When it ran on my xbox I automated everything via scripts that were run based on updates to monitored folders on my media server. I'm trying to do that now all on my 4000gig htpc.
My only real issue is that I am using this HTPC as a pc as well and need to run XBMC in the background or even better would be to run the library as a process or something so that my scripts can update the xbmc library whether or not xbmc is running.

MSI Media Live Diva 5.1 plus the preamp soundcard
On Board ATI Radeon HD 3200
4 x 1 terabyte sata segate 7200.12 hard drives
4 case fans - 3 x ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm; 1 x Scythe KAMA FLEX SA0925FDB12L 92mm
4GB (PC2 6400)
