I got my self a new video card gforce 8400 so i could use the dvi port on my tv, so i was seting it all up then scaning for fanart, so i shut tv off and it made my pc reboot BSOD??? weird so i got pc back up and runing fine and tryed it again same crap im like WTF so i took the power supply out and brought it to the shop he said its fine so i told him what was happing he said reformat so this is where i am now formating the dam thing so anyone have any ideas, i hooked up with svideo works fine ??? and when its on dvi its fine as long as i turn on the tv before i boot and shut the tv down before i shut off the pc lmao

I doubt the OS choice is the issue - sounds like a hardware fault.
Do you require a 4 pin power adapter plugged into that GFX card lemo?

Could be a handshake issue. I don't know much about those things, but sometimes things can get pretty wonky with a digital connection all the way through.

I had a similar problem with using the latest Nvidia drivers. Every time my PC was on before my TV (usually an automated recording), upon turning on my TV the PC would blue screen. After some troubleshooting, I narrowed it down to the new Nvidia drivers. I went back to 182.50 and everything works as it should.
