I use windows 7 with XBMC 9.04.1. When I start/stop movie playback I get an audio pop sound. So when I play a movie I always mute the receiver first and then start the movie...

Do you think this is driver related or can I do something?

People can only do so much by reading your mind.

I have the X-Meridian (connected via SPDIF) soundcard from Auzentech with drivers installed accordingly: http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/8358-solution-found-x-meridian-windows-7-32-64-bit.html

To me it seems that the problem is when the audio stream shift from Stereo to DD/DTS and vice versa when I start/stop playing a movie.

See natethomas' post. We don't ask for the information just to make people jump through hoops. It is necessary to properly identify the problem...

you could try another program to see if it is a driver issue. Also, since your driver is not actually the same as the one for your soundcard, I say you should try installing the vista driver. if that doesn't want to install, check compatibility mode, mine worked fine like that.

i have the same issue; and it only does it with xbmc, dont think its a driver issue

seems to do it when xbmc switches from pcm to dts/ac3
