Hi guys,

I'm really loving XBMC, and the automatic backdrops things I have are gorgeous!

But how do I get better actual thumbnails for each series (http://i40.tinypic.com/23lczrt.jpg)? I don't really want to change the main source, as the backdrops look so good...

I've tried this, as suggested by Mar16 (thanks dude) but didn't have much luck unfortunately:

'C' -> Set Content -> Prefer Posters

Anything else worth trying?

Thanks

From my limited knowledge you should use Posters for the thumbnails when they are boxed shaped then they will look correct

If you use Media Info Plus you can do it easily

Many thanks for the info and link... do I have to manually select a poster for each TV series then?

I'm probably newer to this than you are

But all I did was select the following in Media Info Plus when setting up TV shows "Download TV Show Posters" and "Use Poster Image for the show"

You can also uncheck "Download TV Show Wide Icons" to save time

Media Info Plus is here

Forgot to say then I just go to TV information and refresh it, maybe there's a quicker way ?

Hmm, didn't have much luck with that unfortuantely - anyway to do it inside XBMC please? Automatically download good quality thumbnails?

Yes but I thought you had already tried it, you do it when you set the content in XBMC

Set Content > Settings > Prefer Posters

Then select TV Show Information and select refresh

If you add a new source set the content but don't scan just select TV Show Information it will go off and come back with a list select the correct program/movie and it will then retrieve all the info which is also what it does when you select refresh

If you want to scan fair enough but it takes much longer, or at least it does for me which is why I do it the above way but as I said I'm also new to XBMC

If I understand you correctly, you should be able to achieve what you want via the TVDB Scraper settings (set content - settings - prefer posters).
You may have existing cached thumbs, so refreshing the show and/or getting a new thumb via the media information dialog may be required.

As a final measure you may want to try wiping the cache.

Thanks so much guys - it worked perfectly! Refreshing the show/thumbs worked really well, cheers.

One other quick question (sorry!) I'm using the 'Aeon' theme, and the videos in my 'Movies' section from the start are all using my old file names and everything's duplicated, not stacked properly, or has the wrong info because of poor naming.

I fixed the names of all of my files and tried to rescan it all, but it's still broke. However, going to 'Videos' then 'Movies' and it loads the same information, but up to date.

How do I fix the 'Movies' shortcut right from the main menu?

Cheers
