Small Picture Slideshow Option Settings Change Request?

Would it be possible to get get the slideshow to fade to black between pictures? (Fading from horisontal to portrait pictures does not look good.)

Maybe setting fade time / different transsitions?

(this is of course to hear the mood on this idea before posting anything to trac)

It could be changed to crossfade in the same way as the multiimages do. This isn't a true crossfade, as the only way to do that is how the slideshow currently works.

It is a good compromise, however.

To be honest, the slideshow code needs rewriting from scratch to just use a multiimage control, but that's nowhere close to the top of anyone's TODO list.
