You need to update to a more recent version of XBMC. If the problem persists, post back with a debug log on pastebin.com.

You need to download it and install it. Search the forums/wiki on how to do that.

I couldn't get Youtube to work either. I found that youtube only worked when I used it through either videomonkey or the nav x browser. Are you on an ethernet wireless bridge or a hard line?

The YouTube script is currently up to version 3.4. (http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-youtube/) If you're using MC360 there is a skin here (http://www.turboupload.com/ano9yupji7g5/YouTube_MC360_skin-new.zip.html).

Do you have version 3.4? This is the key point I was trying to make.
With youtube 3.4 and xbmc 9.04 everything should be running smoothly.

There is also a youtube plugin which may suit you better.
Thread here. (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45130&page=7) SVN here. (http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-addons/)

Not quite sure what you mean by overlay.
If you mean overwrite then, no.

You should completely remove the old YouTube script then copy the new one over.

This is wearing me out!

3.4 in along with 9.04. At least now the youtube script runs, displays video icons, search works, BUT nothing plays.

Also, I looked into the plugin link you provided and all I see there is iPhoto and iTunes!?

Added: I just tried appletrailers and it lists trailer icons but nothing will run.
I appreciate all the help and I'm gonna hang in there until I get it working!

Now that you're up to date, paste a debug log and we'll see what it says.

They're the only plugins from that svn that have been 'officially' released for download, the rest are there they just haven't been packaged so neatly.

TortoiseSVN seems to be the program that everyone uses around here for grabbing things from SVN. You'll have to work it out yourself or google for a walkthough, it's not too hard, only a few steps.

http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ is the address you put into the SVN program.

I did another clean 9.04 install and then a clean Youtube script 3.4 and it seems to be working fine. Yippee!

Thanks for all the help. Now...on to other scripts learning.
