Thanks to everyone for all the feedback over the last few days and all the help in tracking down bugs and issues. I've managed to deal with most of them (I think) and have also made a few improvements and tweaks which will hopefully add to the skin.

The main changes are as follows:

Added: Player controls to the video OSD
Added: 38 more movie studio logos
Added: Video overlay to Home screen and all Settings screens
Added: Flip image button to the File Browser dialog
Added: Displaying of Music Now Playing to the Settings screens

Fixed: Show Plot to appear for High List view but only when viewing episodes
Fixed: Displaying of weather background
Fixed: Made sure that videos background is displayed when viewing movie/tv show categorisations (genre, year etc)
Fixed: Missing background for Scripts screen
Fixed: Displaying of fanart images (works better for music and tv shows)
Fixed: Positioning of the watched icon for TV show media in Poster Info view (as well as other related views)

Updated: Tidied up the displaying of the fast forward/rewind notifiers (2x, 4x, 8x etc)
Updated: Tidied up some of the movie studio logo images to make them more consistent
Updated: Tidied up content type label display for Videos, Music, Programs, Scripts and Pictures
Updated: 20th Century Fox logo to show for APJAC Productions too
Updated: Danish translation (thanks to PiNCH)
Updated: Korean translation (thanks to kimp93)
Updated: Spanish translation (thanks to Melandryu)
Updated: Portuguese translation (thanks to xbs08)
Updated: Dutch translation (thanks to jorisdekloris)

Use Recent Version of XBMC
In order to get the best out of this release you need to be using a version of XBMC built in the in the last week or so (since the changes to XBMC to allow background loading of multiimages). A new version of t3ch was released for xbox on 21st May, any earlier t3ch builds will not work with the skin.

If you do decide to use it without an up to date version of XBMC then you'll probably find that none of the backgrounds appear. You have been warned. :shocked:

If you do find any problems or have any suggestions on improvements to the skin please describe them as fully as possible and give screenshots where possible.

Background Images
The skin itself does not contain any real background images since most users will already have a set of background images that they like (for MediaStream and Aeon skins etc) and I assume most users will be using fanart for the Movies and TV Shows anyway.

I have a nice set of custom background images that I use and aim to provide download links so that users can use these if they want.

The skin is setup to work with Weather Fanart (the weather background should match the current weather conditions) and to get this working properly I recommend downloading timdog's Weather Fanart pack (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41650)

Yeah indeed, the 1 out of 5 stars (song rating) doesn't show in the (little) info field and it needs to because you can set it when visualsation view is showing by pressing up/down. Try it out in MediaStream it's a nice feature.

Btw. song rating can also be set by pressing info and go to rating and set it.
But setting it in visualsation view, is easier and faster.

Waffa, I had a bit of a look at the Music Vis screen and as far as I can tell pressing up/down does nothing. I did test it and it works in MiniMeedia, you can set rating that way.
Only you can't see it in that view.
You have to go out of vis and look for the rating.
So like to see song ratings also in the little info field.

Wow - great update! From v0.81 Minimeedia is replacing Aeon Auriga as my default skin! One request: Is there any chance that fanart in "now playing" view will be supported in a future version. I am desperately craving fanart in combination with "Party mode" and "Smart playlists"...

Don't think so, I think that is just the way that music fanart works in XBMC at the moment.

If not then you probably haven't setup the weather fanart pack properly or yoiu haven't got the weather background pointing to the right location.

Also (i hope this doesn't bother you skunkm0nkee) but i would like to suggest a change to the position of the Approx Finish Time, to look something like this:

This is similar to the movie genres that Waffa has been requesting. In general I'm not against the idea but I don't think I'll be including any of the sets of images in the skin. I'm thinking about including code to activate them if you download them yourself though.

I have the plot turned off so will have to do a check on how it looks/works when plot is turned on.

I am having an issue with the settings screen.

I use the left/right arrow and the OK button on my remote (Linux/LIRC MCE) to navigate the Skin, but sometihings only in the Settings->Skin->Backgrounds dialogs i get artifacts from the last time i was there. This fixes itself when the background image changes and a repaint occurs.

Notice in the screen shot i have nothing selected. (Skin or Background) I have just check right arrow on the settings.

I am running a 20554 build from SVN.

I am having a problem... the main menu page is showing no images for me at all... just the menu options over a black screen (Watch your Movies, Watch your TV Shows, etc.). I have all the background folders set, but still nothing. When I am in a section everything works fine (Movies, TV, etc.) ...any idea how to fix it??

It's not really about the skin supporting PLEX but PLEX having a skinning environment that works with XBMC. From the posts I've seen on here I guess there are a few issues when running it on PLEX but nothing that a few minor additions to their skinning engine shouldn't fix.

I think the biggest problem is that you need a recent release of XBMC for MiniMeedia to work properly and PLEX lags behind in that matter.

Yep, and hopefully by the time MiniMeedia reaches v1.00 then PLEX will include the changes required so that the skin works fully :grin:

Found it!

My screenshots were ending up in the same folder as by system backgrounds. So as I would take screenshots it would show them as backgrounds. This is why it would go away when the screen would refresh!!

Will it be possible to have a "Info" screen that is more geared toward linux/live XBMC as well as the xbox? I ask this because the free space/storage very different on linux vs xbox. And makes little or no sense in linux.

PM3.HD does this nicely as it displays different info based on the platform.

I am curious as to how PM3 does it, looking at the SettingsSystemInfo.xml reveals nothing, I guess they are calling out to some Python do this? I would like to help with this if you can point me the right direction.

No. I do not know of any skin with this feature implemented :sad: So you are probably correct that it is not supported...

Have a suggestion. It's about the exhibit view.

Looks very nice on my windows platform and like it. (default thumbs 512 x 512).
But on the xbox the default thumbsize is 192 x 192 and that doesn't look nice.

I would suggest an option in skin settings to exchange exhibit for animated view like in MediaStream.
And make the thumb of animated view a little bit bigger.
Please consider it.
Animated view (without info) was my favorit view in MediaStream because it was so minimal and clean.:grin:

I have started a new MiniMeedia Gallery (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51836) thread where I aim to post screenshots of the skin in various guises. This is partly to show off how good the skin can look (to attract new users) but should show what current features are available for existing users and what the various options actually do.

Also I've been adding some more movie studio logos to the skin so that there will be around 200 or so included. I know there will still be many films that don't yet have a studio logo but if you do know of any and know where an image of the logo can be obtained then feel free to post the details and I'll see what I can do. (The same goes for tv network logos too)

as you can see and soon as the episode is selected .. the box is just too small .. i know that scrolls ..
but to begin with the space to the list seems too small ...

I found a few dialogue related bugs.

When you open the search dialogue and use the slider, pressing right doesn't bring focus back to the search results. The scrollbar just stays pink until you close it and reopen it.

When you try to press discography/tracks in music artist/album info you are unable to select the discography/tracks list. The focus is still on the artist/album info, for comparison the cast section of movie/tv info works like it should.

And a background related one: no background shows up in the now playing window for videos, but it does for music.

I should've been clearer I meant the search dialogue that pops up in the upper right corner when you bring up the options menu and click search. The scrollbar is on the left side of the dialogue. It seems it only works like this in the video library, music search works as you described.

Aha, found what you were on about! Because the other stuff you mentioned related to music I tried searching in Music Library and that seems to work differently to searching Video Library (Video pops up the Select dialog whilst Music will populate the current view with the search results) :laugh:

I have now updated the Select dialog code to fix this issue for the next release.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting the effort into designing/developing this skin. It's currently the skin I'm using on my ATV. Performance is perfectly acceptable (can't say that for some other skins on the ATV), and the minimalistic look and feel of it is top notch.

Thanks again for your time/efforts. I look forward to further releases.

I can see that every area has an option for setting background folder option.
How do I set the backgrounds for Main Menu?

If you did set the backgrounds for every area and they don't show up on home screen, your build is out of date.

Excellent skin. Just noticed that when you switch the keyboard to enter an IP address, the 9 doesn't show up. It's not exactly a glaring error, but figured I'd let you know.

Nice though I'd like to see you put a Wallstream in for movies again. It may not be the best for showing off Fanart, but when you just want to browse through a big movie collection it's quite handy.

Yep, you need rev 20300 or higher.

Hi skunkm0nkee, got two questions:

1) In a previous post you describe listing TV Shows by episodes. I went into "View" under settings and do not see that option.

2) I was looking through your Media Gallery thread. Are all those new views coming in the next version? Because I do not see them in the 0.81 version like High view and low view, etc.

Looks like you didn't find the option menu for changing views and sort by.

It's simple right or up clicking for the menu.(look at arrow on the right of your screen)

Great job on the skin, I have one question is there any future plans to possibly make the logos/ratings a bit larger for use on large screens? on my 46" its hard to see the R rating and reasons for it being rated that way

Most of my location give black backrounds only folders located on xbox shows 4 (ugly) thumbs.
Windows gives me with all the location a black screen.

The backgrounds in the pictures screen is the focused picture. When you are on a folder then it should show the thumb for that folder (which is probably something I'll look at in time as that will probably look pretty ugly)

In general the custom pictures folder will not be used as the background as it should be the currently selected picture.

Look for the following lines in Home.xml:

The <item> blocks that come after that are the individual items in the menu and whatever is 2nd in that list will be the default.

Nope, as I've said before, a wall style view doesn't fit with this skin. Using one of the list views with scroll bars is quick and pressing Shift + Letter is even quicker

The sizing of the logos is based on the space that is available. The places those logos are displayed are where summary info is shown but if you want to see full details then open the info dialog (press I on keyboard) and then press the down arrow to see the full text info for the rating.

I know and works good only the first tab where you do add location doesn't work fine.
Pictures on NAS will not load as backgrounds there, only if it's a location on the xbox. When browsing in NAS folder everything is ok.
