Hi All,
As XBMC is running pretty smoothly here now, I wanted to list the change I had to do to make it work nearly perfectly.
No way to choose the partition settings
I installed XBMC from the LiveCD and I was very disappointed to be prompted to format the entire harddrive. No way to choose a partition here ?
At the end, I had two partitions, one for the system and the other for /home.
No sound through SPDIF
No sound at startup because I am using the SPDIF connector to an external amplifier. I had to create a $home/.asoundrc which contains something like !pcm.default spdif .
Gaps when playing internet streaming (shoutcast streams)
With the help of Billybig, I had to create the XBMC advancedsettings.xml file to set the resample settings to avoid gaps when playing shoutwast steams (see complete post (http://xbmc.org/forum/showpost.php?p=329743&postcount=1))
Success
After the two previous changes, XBMC is running and running well. The remote (the Pinnacle MCE compatible one) is working a bit slowly but that's all I can find.
Thanks a lot to the XBMC team for providing so much effort on the project !
Regards,
Tom
