View Full Version : Stuttering after a while for a while
Hi!
At the moment, I use XBMC r19955 on an Ubuntu 9.10. Patched for VDR.
I've got the problem, that, if I'm watching a DVD-ISO all works well, but after a while (I think 20 minutes or so), the video starts stuttering.
It goes away by itself after approx. 2min and comes back after a while.
Strange thing is, if I press the "O"- (debug-info) or "M"- (menu) Button. The video runs fluently, until I "press away" the overlay.
No framedrops, no unusal CPU Usage.
Is this a known issue?
My Hardware: ASUS Barebone M2N8200 with Athlon 64 X2 5200 (min 1.8GHz) and an additional GF9400/512
Thanks.
Patrick

not that I know and until you provide a pastebin posting of xbmc.log when this happens, it might remain an unknown issue.
Ok. Had it just now.
here is the xbmc.log. I see a lot of "discontinuity". Is this the problem?
I switched sometimes to the debug-overlay.

Interesting, what DVD are you playing and is it and ISO rip (details), the log is truncated so I can't see back to where the DVD is loaded.
When this happens, type "o" and watch the aq/vq values and see if they are zero.
Hi davilla,
do you want the whole logfile?
Here it is: http://pastebin.com/mba328a3
(I did some other things before watching)
It's on most of my DVD-Rips (ISO-File generated with CloneDVD).
AQ und VQ is not zero.
Lastly I had it on "seven pounds" and Farcry.

turn off any upscaling and don't change the display size/refresh.
Hi davilla,
is this a solution for a known issue or is this a test I should make?
What about the video-quality wihtout upscaling?
I have to enable the VSync. Without every video-playback is jerky.
