Hello everyone...

I am not getting XBMC started anyway.

I have a Sony Full-HD LCD in 1080p (24 Hertz or 50 Hertz) Home Theater Setting under Windows Vista.

When I start XBMC.exe in normal mode, my whole TV switches to a 640x480 (or something like that) fullscreen mode, so i can see only a small part of the top left corner of the programm (i cannot reach the settings menu...cant see anything)

When I start the programm in windowed mode, the whole TV is flickering...for seconds full black, then some milliseconds i can see the menu...(i cannot reach the settings menu...cant see anything).

In both cases I only can stop the programm by the Vista Task-Manager

I tryed to switch to 1080p in 24 Hertz, 50 Hertz and 60 Hertz, but nothing made it better :(

Anyone some ideas how I can get it working?

Thx :)

No Idea? I also deinstalled and reinstalled it :(

Isnt there any Config-File where I can change the resolution?

Please don't bump your thread in under 24hrs. Someone will post if they have further info for you. Be patient!

All I can recommend is that you take a look at userdata/guisettings.xml (you'll have to check the wiki for where exactly this is on windows). There is a "calibration" tag with several "resolution" tags under it. This defines the per-resolution screen calibrations. Each also has an ID associated with it. Find the resolution you want, and use its ID under the "videoscreen" > "resolution" tag. It might need to try a few. If this doesn't work or you don't understand, you'll have to wait for someone who actually uses windows and has some insight, to come along.

First, read this and follow the directions.

Second, it certainly sounds like you've got some kind of wonky video drivers going on. Have you tried downloading recent video drivers from ATI's website?

Ok thx... :)
In 2-3 weeks I get a new motherboard (790G) with Radeon 3300 onboard. I will reinstall Vista and the newest drivers. Perhaps this will solve the problems.

I go on reporting about it

Nvidia GFX would be a better solution if the purchase hasn't been made yet.
